  • Lucky holes encounter gold at Brewery Creek

    Updated Feb 5, 2018

Golden Predator Mining Corp. Oct. 13 reported higher than expected gold grades were encountered in several metallurgical and geotechnical holes drilled this year at Brewery Creek, a former producing heap-leach gold operation about 55 kilometers (34 miles) east of Dawson City, Yukon. Three metallurgical holes and one geotechnical hole at the Lucky deposit cut gold mineralization below the historical pit floors. Hole 11 cut 8.2 meters grading 21.3 grams per metric ton gold from a depth of 22.2 meters at the western end of the...

  • More moly-tungsten at Davidson; PEA mulled

    Updated Feb 5, 2018

Darnley Bay Resources Ltd. Oct. 17 reported a significant increase in the molybdenum and tungsten resources at the Davidson property in north-central British Colombia. The new resource for Davidson includes 23 holes completed since the last estimate was completed for the property in 2007. A total of 72,815 meters of drilling has been completed in 218 drill holes since exploration of the molybdenum-tungsten property began in the 1950s. A progressive joint venture between Boart Longyear and the Liard First Nation, which was awarded the 3 Aces drill contract, is targeting the completion at least 3,500 meters of reverse circulation drilling and 400 meters of core drilling during the fourth quarter. This drilling will test depth and strike extensions of high-grade...

  • KSM drilling discovers new copper-gold zone

    Updated Feb 5, 2018

Seabridge Gold Inc. Oct. 18 reported that one hole drilled this summer successfully found the depth extension of the higher grade core of the Iron Cap zone while also discovering a previously unknown deposit with initial gold and copper grades among the best drilled so far at the KSM project in northwestern British Columbia. Hole IC-16-62 was collared well north of previous drilling in an area covered by rubble and ice which had prevented surface mapping and geophysical surveys. The hole targeted the Iron Cap Lower zone...

This hole did not return any significant assay results but did cut 400 meters of hydrothermal breccia with abundant pyrite is that is believed to be the cause of the conductivity low anomaly identified by geophysics. Kiska said the extent of brecciation and the...
