Golden Predator Mining Corp. Aug. 9 reported continued high-grade gold results from drilling and the discovery of a new zone of gold veining at its 3 Aces project in southeast Yukon.
The current drilling at 3 Aces continues to focus on the Spades zone, in order to provide appropriate drill density for interpretation and modelling of the gold mineralization in the high-grade vein system.
Highlights from 18 holes drilled there - eight reverse circulation and 10 core - include: 4.57 meters of 58.75 grams per metric ton gold in hole3A17-124; 13.3 meter of 6.69 g/t gold in 3A17-132; 4.6 meters of 18.77 g/t gold in 3A17-134; 13.75 meters of 65.31 g/t gold and 4.5 meters of 46.9 g/t gold in 3A17-131; and 6 meters of 15.98 g/t and 16.2 meters of 20.5 g/t gold in 3A17-133.
Holes 3A17-131 and 3A17-133 were drilled to verify grade.
With hole 3A17-131 cutting the best gold interval to date at 3 Aces, these holes have confirmed grades in areas previously explored with reverse circulation drilling.
Golden Predator said the latest batch of results continue to confirm the potential for near surface and high-grade underground targets and are part of a fully-funded 40,000-meter drill program, which will continue throughout 2017.
In addition to drilling, geologic mapping and soil sampling have led to a visible gold discovery at Ace of Diamonds in the newly identified Diamond zone.
Located about 1,000 meters north of the Spades zone, the Diamonds zone features gold-bearing quartz veining occurring continuously over a strike of 1,200 meters.
The company also discovered quartz breccias containing up to 3.21 g/t gold at the Three of Diamonds, which is just south of Ace of Diamonds.
The company said this discovery gold in the lower Diamonds Zone stratigraphy supports the theory that deep mineralization underlies the Spades, Hearts and Clubs Zones.
The company said expansion into the Diamonds zone significantly enhances the overall potential of the 11-square-kilomter central core area at 3 Aces; and the same controls and style of mineralization found there persist along a 35-kilometer-long northwesterly trend blanketed by the expanded 3 Aces property.
The similarities and repetitive nature of the structures, stratigraphy and mineralization have significant district-scale implications across the property, according to the company.
