Sabina taps blue-sky Back River potential

Sabina Gold & Silver Corp. Sep. 5 reported that the 10,000-meter resource expansion drill program is tapping high-grade extension of the Lama structure on the Goose property at its Back River gold project in Nunavut.

One such hole, 17GSE516B, cut 38.55 meters averaging 9.48 g/t gold within a strongly altered and mineralized lower iron formation package that is part of the continuation of the Llama structure.

This intercept is approximately 160 meters down plunge from 17GS513, reported earlier this year, which cut 8.3 meters averaging 6.52 g/t gold.

Sabina said this new zone represents a significant increase in sulfide mineralization along the structure.

Drilling will continue to test this new zone, which has been traced for more than 1,500 meters along surface and to a depth of 595 meters, in both the up and down plunge directions.

"The results from this hole are outstanding and represent some of the best intercepts completed by the company since the discoveries of the Llama and Umwelt deposits in 2010," said Sabina President and CEO Bruce McLeod. "I believe that further results will continue to demonstrate the tremendous blue-sky potential at Back River and the ability of our exploration team to prove their target concepts."

In addition to the Llama, assays are pending for drilling completed at the Umwelt Vault zone, Kogoyok and Echo.
