Drills show Saddle North porphyry upside

North of 60 Mining News – October 12, 2018

GT Gold Corp. Oct. 10 reports that drilling continues to tap long sections of porphyry gold-copper-silver mineralization at the Saddle North discovery on the company's Tatogga property in British Columbia's Golden Triangle.

Hole TTD085, reported in September, cut 822.2 meters averaging 0.42 grams per metric ton gold, 0.26 percent copper and 0.62 g/t silver. This long intercept included 430 meters of 0.67 g/t gold, 0.41 percent copper and 0.89 g/t silver from 493 meters to 897.5 meters.

TTD093, drilled 200 meters northwest of TTD085, cut 904.1 meters averaging 0.51 g/t gold, 0.3 percent copper and 0.93 g/t silver from a depth of 15 meters. This intercept includes 363.1 meters of 1.02 g/t gold, 0.51 percent copper and 1.72 g/t silver from 514.9 meters.

TTD090, drilled 296 meters north of TTD085, cut 494.1 meters of 0.25 g/t gold, 0.26 percent copper and 0.55 g/t silver from a depth of 30.9 meters.

"Our drilling to date at Saddle North has rapidly outlined a very large porphyry gold-copper-silver discovery," said GT Gold Vice President of Exploration Charles Greig. "Porphyry discoveries of this scale and tenor are uncommon. "

So far this year, GT Gold has completed seven widely-spaced holes targeting the Saddle North porphyry discovery. The company says that visual indicators show that all of these holes have cut the porphyry mineralization targeted over considerable lengths, indicating broad lateral and depth continuity.

"Our exploration team is excited by the visual intercepts of sheeted vein, vein stockwork and disseminated style gold-copper-silver mineralization, and by our ability to hit the host monzodiorite intrusion in follow up holes, even with large step-outs," said Greig. "It's also exciting to know that the mineralized body is essentially intact, and largely uneroded, at surface beneath relatively thin overburden, and that it extends to depth, both down-dip of our known intercepts, and along strike."

GT Gold says the porphyry style mineralization encountered at Saddle North is reminiscent of what Imperial Metals is mining at Red Chris, a copper-gold operation about 20 kilometers (12.5 miles) to the southeast.

"We see tremendous upside for expansion and, as was the case with the nearby Red Chris deposit, potential grade increases at depth," Greig added.

Results from an additional four holes drilled this year at Saddle North are pending and rigs continue to test this porphyry gold-copper-silver discovery in northwestern British Columbia.
