White Gold Corp. Nov. 15 reported that drilling continues to cut long sections of high-grade gold at Vertigo, indicating that this newly discovered zone on the company's JP Ross property in the Yukon hosts a large, high-grade gold deposit.
The latest batch of drill results are from 11 reverse circulation (RC) holes that validated previously completed rotary air blast holes and identified new zones of high-grade gold mineralization along strike and at depth.
Highlights from this drilling include:
• 82.3 meters of 3.21 grams per metric ton gold, which includes 1.52 meters of 103.9 g/t gold and 400 g/t silver from surface in hole JPRVERRC18-006;
• 6.1 meters of 14.23 g/t gold, which includes 3.05 meters of 38.56 g/t gold from surface in JPRVERRC18-009; and
• 1.52 meters of 30.7 g/t gold from surface and 7.62 meters of 3.98 g/t gold from 65.53 meters in JPRVERRC18-003.
"We are continuing to encounter high-grade gold mineralization at or near surface on the Vertigo target and have now encountered multiple additional high-grade zones at depth and along strike," said White Gold Corp. Vice President of Exploration Jodie Gibson. "These new results have provided further understanding of the geological model and show the potential for a large high-grade mineralized system."
The 17 rotary air blast and 12 RC holes drilled at Vertigo this year has encountered high-grade gold over a 305- by 250-meter area and this mineralization remains open along strike and to depth.
White Gold says the target area of mineralization and alteration at Vertigo has been expanded to a footprint of 1,500 by 650 meters.
Assay results are pending for some of the RC holes drilled within and beyond this strike length.
Drilling and other geological testing has also been conducted along a 14-kilometer (8.7 miles) structural trend that hosts Vertigo and other similar targets.
White Gold geologists have been prospecting this larger structural trend in search of additional gold zones similar to Vertigo. Assays from this geological evaluation are pending.
Situated about 15.5 miles (25 kilometers) north of the White Gold property, JP Ross has the advantage of being road accessible from Dawson City and the Vertigo target is within 2,000 meters of an existing road. This will provide for lower cost exploration and resource exploration drilling at this enticing discovery in the White Gold District.
