Luckystrike Resources Ltd. May 13 announced it is gearing up for its 2019 drill program at the Lucky Strike property in Yukon's White Gold District.
The program will focus on expanding on discovery hole DDLS-18-06, which cut 7.6 meters averaging 4.55 g/t gold in an unoxidized lower zone at the Monte Carlo zone at Lucky Strike that had not previously been tapped with drilling.
In addition to the lower zone, hole 18-06 cut 8.3 meters averaging 1.16 g/t gold in an upper zone.
This hole was the only one to test a strong induced polarization (IP) geophysical anomaly that has been defined over an 1,800-meter area of the Monte Cristo zone.
Luckystrike plans to test an 800-meter section of this IP anomaly, which has the potential to quickly expand the scale and geometry of Monte Carlo gold zone both along strike and to depth.
"With the preparations for summer drill program now mobilized, we look forward to receiving the drill results from the newly discovered gold zone," said Luckystrike Resources President and CEO Bill Chornobay. "Drilling will be focused on expanding on the 2018 discovery hole DDLS-18-06 to trace the zone both along strike and to depth, which remains open in all directions. With continued drilling success the Luckystrike property is poised to quickly evolve into a significant gold discovery."
The Luckystrike property is situated immediately northeast of the White Gold property, which hosts the Golden Saddle deposit, and along the route of the proposed haul road for Newmont Goldcorp's Coffee Gold Mine project to the south.
