Banyan Gold extends Airstrip zone, Yukon

North of 60 Mining News – December 13, 2019

Banyan Gold Corp. Dec. 11 reported that the second phase of 2019 drilling at its Aurex-McQuesten project in the Yukon continues to expand gold mineralization at the Airstrip zone.

Previous drilling at Airstrip has outlined a roughly 90-meter-thick package of near surface gold mineralization along about 500 meters of strike. The 2019 phase-2 program is designed to extend this zone to 1,000 meters along strike.

The latest batch of four holes – MQ-19-54, MQ-19-55, MQ-19-56 and MQ-19-64 – extend and infill Airstrip mineralization over the first 250-meter expansion area to the east.

Highlights from these holes drilled into East Airstrip include:

• 98 meters of 0.71 grams per metric ton gold from a depth of 21.5 meters in MQ-19-54;

• 53.3 meters of 0.31 g/t gold from 4.6 meters in MQ-19-55;

• 74.5 meters of 0.47 g/t gold from 12.2 meters in MQ-19-56; and

• 45.2 meters of 0.26 g/t gold from 45.2 meters in MQ-19-64.

"Airstrip zone results continue to build out consistent, long intervals of near-surface gold mineralization within the host unit defined by Banyan's geologic model," said Banyan Gold President and CEO Tara Christie.

These long intervals include some shorter sections of high-grade gold, such as:

• 1.5 meters of 7.77 g/t gold from 46.3 meters in MQ 19-54;

• three meters of 4.76 g/t gold from 79.5 meters in MQ 19-54;

• 0.2 m of 16.9 g/t gold from a depth of 134 meters in MQ-19-56.

"Each successive drill-hole in this new area meaningfully adds tonnage combined with higher-grade zones within a previously undrilled portion of the growing Airstrip zone," Christie added.

Last week, the company reported results from three other holes – MQ-19-46, MQ-19-52 and MQ-19-53 – drilled at East Airstrip. Highlights from this drilling include:

• 50.7 meters of 0.46 g/t gold from a depth of 8.3 meters in MQ-19-46, including 0.8 meters of 4.5 g/t gold from 13.5 meters; and

• 106.7 meters of 0.63 g/t gold from a depth of nine meters in MQ-19-52, including three meters of 2.89 g/t gold from 49.5 meters.

Banyan completed 3,385 meters of drilling in 26 holes during the 2019 phase-2 program at Aurex-McQuesten, a road accessible property about 56 kilometers (35 miles) northeast of Mayo and roughly 10 kilometers (six miles) south of Victoria Gold Corp.'s Eagle gold mine.

Assay results are pending from 14 of the holes drilled.
