Victoria Gold explores beyond Eagle Mine

Robust 2020 program focuses on high-grade Raven gold target North of 60 Mining News – June 26, 2020

Victoria Gold Corp. June 23 announced it has kicked off a C$6 million exploration at Dublin Gulch, the 555-square-kilometer property that hosts the company's new Eagle Gold Mine in Canada's Yukon.

"With Eagle now in production, 2020 will see a robust exploration campaign within the broader Dublin Gulch camp," said Victoria Gold President and CEO John McConnell.

This program will focus primarily on further drilling and trenching near-surface high-grade gold occurrences at Raven, a 2018 discovery about 13 kilometers (eight miles) east of the Eagle deposit currently being mined.

Raven is found within the Nugget, which is an intrusive stock that is geologically similar to the body that hosts the Eagle deposit.

"We are picking up right where we left off last season as we continue to define the high-grade Raven target," McConnell said.

Trenching at Raven over the last two years has encountered strong gold mineralization at surface. Some of the highlights from this work include:

124 meters of 3.51 grams per metric ton gold in TR18-33.

50 meters of 4.15 g/t gold in TR18-37.

10 meters of 6.64 g/t gold in TR-19-13.

12 meters of 7.91 g/t gold in TR-19-15.

Drilling completed at Raven last year showed high-grade gold within wider bulk tonnage mineralization:

88.1 meters of 0.6 g/t gold from a depth of 28.8 meters in NG19-011C, including 2.8 meters of 7.72 g/t gold.

166.4 meters of 0.46 g/t gold from 29.4 meters in NG19-12C, including 5.9 meters of 4.48 g/t gold.

139.3 meters of 0.41 g/t gold from 14.1 meters in NG19-13C, including one meter of 9.9 g/t gold.

Victoria said structural control of the mineralization at Raven is evident, which is allowing the company to vector in on the large high-grade dilatational fracture zone that is interpreted to host a Raven gold deposit.

The 2020 Raven drill program will extend drill coverage across a 2,000- by 600-meter gold-arsenic-bismuth soil anomaly that was first defined with geochemical sampling completed in 2018 and expanded with further soil surveys carried out last year.

"2019 established a larger footprint for Raven gold mineralization and this season will build on that success to demonstrate the size potential of the Raven target," said McConnell.

The company also plans to investigate Lynx, an exploration target about 5,000 meters southwest of Nugget, this year.

Situated within Dublin Gulch's Potato Hills trend, the Lynx zone is defined by a 400- by 700-meter elliptical granodiorite stock with similar characteristics to Nugget, including geologic setting and gold grades.

Highlights from historical trenching at Lynx include:

three meters averaging 22.2 g/t gold.

eight meters of 4.4 g/t gold.

Drilling has returned several high-grade gold intersections intermingled with thicker, lower-grade gold intervals. Highlights include:

34.8 meters of 7.04 g/t gold.

66.3 meters of 7.37 g/t gold.

50.1 meters of 2.88 g/t gold.

Lynx has limited historical testing and has never been tested with Victoria geologists' increased understanding of Potato Hills mineralization.
