Drills tap high-grade gold in Ridge vein

Smaller structure indicates growth potential at Herbert Gold North of 60 Mining News – December 11, 2020

Grande Portage Resources Ltd. Dec. 9 reported assay results from holes that tapped gold mineralization in the Deep Trench, Ridge and Main veins on its Herbert Gold project in Southeast Alaska.

Herbert Gold hosts 1.88 million metric tons of indicated resource averaging 10.03 grams per metric ton (605,000 ounces) gold; plus 553,429 metric tons of inferred resource averaging 14.15 g/t (251,700 oz) gold. This resource is found in three roughly parallel structures at Herbert Gold – Goat, Main and Deep Trench.

The latest round of assays included results from four holes drilled in a fan from U Pad, which is located north of the Main vein.

Angled toward the south, these holes encountered Ridge at shallow depths, then Main and Deep Trench.

The best intercept of the Ridge vein came in hole 20U-1, which cut 1.48 meters of 29.21 grams per metric ton gold when encountering the Ridge structure at a depth of 59.8 meters. Another hole drilled from the U Pad, 20U-4, cut 1.4 meters of 16.53 g/t gold when encountering the Ridge structure at a depth of 107.5 meters.

Hole 20U-1 also encountered strong gold mineralization when it encountered the Main Vein at a drill depth of 161.9 meters, cutting 2.38 meters averaging 11.47 g/t gold.

The latest results also included assays from three holes drilled south from H Pad, which is just north of the Deep Trench vein.

The targeted area of Deep Trench Vein was east of previous drilling and at depth.

The best intercept was encountered in hole 20H-3, which cut 4.5 meters averaging 11.77 g/t gold from a depth of 99.9 meters.

"These holes continue to add confidence that this system is pervasive and will continue to grow. All veins drilled have encountered mineralized material," said Grande Portage Resources President Ian Klassen. "Mesothermal veins are usually less than two meters wide and often occur in parallel sets just as they are presented at the Herbert deposit."

Grande Portage tested the North, Goat, Sleeping Giant, Ridge, Main, Deep Trench, Floyd and Elusive veins and numerous subsidiary structures with 8,375 meters of drilling completed at Herbert Gold during 2020.

With continued backlog at assay labs this year, the company is expecting to receive the balance of the assay results from this program through January of next year.
