Goodbye Heatherdale, hello Blackwolf

New name reflects strength, loyalty and inclusion within pack North of 60 Mining News – April 23, 2021

Heatherdale Resources Ltd. April 20 announced a significant change by renaming the company to Blackwolf Copper and Gold Ltd., which is now listed on the TSX Venture Exchange under the symbol BWCG.

"Our name change to Blackwolf Copper and Gold better reflects the company's spirit and vision, particularly with consultation and inclusion with indigenous people," said Rob McLeod, president and CEO of Blackwolf Copper and Gold. "Growing up in the Pacific Northwest on the border of Alaska and British Columbia, I was fascinated with the distinct wolf packs that were either traditional grey, or with dominantly black fur. We see Blackwolf as a symbol for strength, inclusion and loyalty within our own pack of mining professionals and the transboundary nature of our business strategy."

Blackwolf has been actively exploring the Niblack copper-gold-silver-zinc project in Southeast Alaska for the better part of a decade, and the name change seems even more fitting considering the similarity.

The renamed mineral exploration company kicked off the initial phase of its 2021 program last month with a planned 14-hole drill program targeting the expansion of Lookout Zone, the largest deposit at Niblack. The company says it may expand this drill program dependent on visual observation of mineralization.

According to a 2011 calculation, Lookout hosts 5.64 million metric tons of indicated resource averaging 0.95% (118.1 million pounds) copper, 1.75 grams per metric ton (317,220 ounces) gold, 29.5 g/t (5.35 million oz) silver, and 1.73% (215 million lb) zinc; plus 2.37 million metric tons of inferred resource at 0.73% (38.1 million lb) copper, 1.42 g/t (108,202 oz) gold, 21.6 g/t (1.65 million oz) silver and 1.17% (61.1 million lb) zinc.

Expansion of this rich zone of volcanogenic massive sulfide mineralization offers the renamed Blackwolf significant prospects to maximize the potential of its Niblack property.

With 2020 drilling confirming a theory by McLeod that the VMS-style mineralization at the historic mine is hosted in a synform, a downward fold of the geology, rather than an antiform, Blackwolf has been able to adapt and begin an underground drilling operation which it reported March 16.
