Coeur is exploring Yukon silver property

Begins program on high-grade project north of Silvertip Mine North of 60 Mining News – May 7, 2021

Alianza Minerals Ltd. May 4 reported that Coeur Explorations, a subsidiary of Coeur Mining Inc., has begun an initial exploration program at Alianza's Tim silver project in southern Yukon.

Located about 19 kilometers (12 miles) northeast of Coeur's Silvertip mine in British Columbia, Tim is a road-accessible project with similar high-grade silver-lead-zinc mineralization.

Historical chip sampling from a trench cut across a zone of carbonate replacement mineralization at Tim returned 352 grams per metric ton silver and 9.1% lead over four meters. Similar mineralization was also reported in adjacent trenches 180 and 250 meters on either side of the central trench.

Tarsis Resources Ltd., a predecessor to Alianza, completed a focused work program in 2013 to re-evaluate this historical zone of silver- and lead-rich mineralization. This work included resampling of the central trench, which returned 365 g/t silver and 7.5% lead across a 3.7-meter channel sample.

Under an option agreement entered into early last year, Coeur can earn an 80% interest in the Tim property by funding C$3.55 million in exploration over five years and paying C$575,000 to Alianza in scheduled cash payments over eight years. Coeur must also fund a feasibility study and notify Alianza of its intention to develop a commercial mine on the property on or before the eighth anniversary of receiving the primary permit needed to begin exploration.

The current program consists of a SkyTEM airborne geophysical survey, which will be followed up by groundwork later this field season.

The airborne transient electromagnetic survey is expected to collect magnetic and resistivity data to help identify and delineate structural features on the property. It is also likely that this data will be valuable in mapping geology in areas of sparse outcrop. This data will be used to plan subsequent work including mapping, soil geochemical sampling, and trenching later this summer.

Under the terms of the option agreement, Coeur is managing the exploration carried out at Tim.
