White Gold refines drill targets at Betty

Plans to test three targets on the Yukon gold project this year North of 60 Mining News – May 21, 2021

White Gold Corp. May 19 reported that its 2020 exploration program at the Betty gold project in the Yukon identified several targets for drilling slated for this year.

Situated about 15 kilometers (nine miles) northeast of Western Copper and Gold Corp.'s Casino copper-gold deposit and 40 kilometers (25 kilometers) east of Newmont Corp's Coffee Gold deposit, the 17,127-hectare (42,322 acres) Betty property covers the eastern strike extension of the Coffee Creek Fault, which exerts structural controls on Coffee deposit gold mineralization.

The 2020 exploration program at Betty included ground magnetic and very low frequency-electromagnetic (VLF-EM) geophysical surveys and infill soil geochemistry sampling at six areas on the property. This includes further work to help define follow-up drill targets at Betty White, Betty Ford, and Mascot.

"We are very pleased with these additional results from our Betty property. These results in addition to the previous work performed, and the property's close proximity to large gold and copper deposits are very encouraging," said White Gold President and CEO David D'Onofrio.

Betty White covers a more than 800-meter-long gold-arsenic-antimony soil anomaly across a north-facing hillside above Sunshine Creek. Roughly 400 meters of this trend has been partially outlined with GT Probe sampling and limited rotary air blast (RAB) drilling.

Highlights from White Gold's 2018 RAB drilling at Betty White include 22.86 meters averaging 0.47 grams per metric ton gold in hole BETWHTRAB-019 and 4.57 meters averaging 1.8 g/t gold in BETWHTRAB-021.

Situated about 700 meters south of Betty White, the Betty Ford zone covers a 300- by 200-meter gold-in-soil anomaly. White Gold encountered near-surface mineralization at Betty Ford with 2018 RAB drilling, including 24.39 meters averaging 0.94 g/t gold in BETFRDRAB-001 and 50.29 meters averaging 1.08 g/t gold in BETFRDRAB-002.

Mascot, which is located about 2,000 meters east of Betty Ford, covers roughly 3,000 meters of gold-in-soil geochemistry when you include several subzones – Page, Boop, Rubble, and Davis.

A previous company, Ethos Gold Corp., carried out significant reverse circulation drilling at Mascot in 2012. Highlights from this RC drilling include 21.3 meters averaging 1.48 g/t gold in hole BETR12-007 at the Davis zone, 3.1 meters averaging 29.75 g/t gold in BETR12-012 at the Boop zone, and 41.1 meters averaging 2.62 g/t gold in BETR12-022 at the Page zone.

The 2021 exploration at Betty is expected to include the first-ever diamond drilling on several targets, as well as a new detailed structural interpretation.

"We are very excited to diamond drill test these targets this year and further demonstrate the expansiveness of gold mineralization in the White Gold District, and the effectiveness of our exploration methodologies," said D'Onofrio.
