Pembridge explorers for more Minto copper

To test priority exploration targets near known mining areas North of 60 Mining News – May 28, 2021

Pembridge Resources plc May 24 announced it has budgeted C$3.2 million for Minto Exploration Ltd. to investigate high-priority exploration targets at the United Kingdom-based company's Minto copper project in Canada's Yukon.

"This new exploration drilling program continues Minto's aim of exploring the Minto copper belt and realizing its potential," said Pembridge Resources Chairman and CEO Gati Al-Jebouri.

A preliminary economic assessment recently completed for Pembridge outlined plans for producing 277 million pounds of copper, 129,000 ounces of gold, and 930,000 oz of silver over the next eight years at Minto.

Over the first five years of this plan, the mine is forecast to average 38 million lb of copper, 17,600 oz of gold, and 129,000 oz of silver annually.

The PEA is based on 11.09 million metric tons of measured and indicated resources averaging 1.46% (356 million lb) copper, 0.53 grams per metric ton (189,000 oz) gold, and 4.75 g/t (1.86 million oz) silver; plus 13.03 million metric tons of inferred resource averaging 1.29% (370 million lb) copper, 0.49 g/t (207,000 oz) gold, and 4.55 g/t (2.09 million oz) silver.

Pembridge has identified numerous targets across the Minto property that could add to this resource and the life of the mine.

To investigate this potential, Pembridge senior management has approved a 27-hole (13,220 meters) drill program to test priority targets near mining areas at Minto.

A 2009 induced polarization geophysics program narrowed down a list of 64 targets initially identified at Minto. These targets were further refined with magnetic geophysics completed in 2019.

This year's drill program targeting the highest priority targets turned up with these geophysics programs and geochemical sampling is expected to get underway in July and continue into November 2021.

"We look forward to seeing the results, which I expect will indicate further opportunity to extend the life of the mine," said Al-Jebouri.

Pembridge expects to receive the final results from this drilling early in 2022.
