Rockhaven wraps expanded Klaza program

Drills 72 holes at advanced gold-silver project in the Yukon North of 60 Mining News – November 5, 2021

Rockhaven Resources Ltd. Nov. 3 reported the successful completion of a 72-hole diamond drill program at its road-accessible Klaza gold-silver project in the Dawson Range Gold Belt of southern Yukon.

Originally slated to be 12,000 meters, the 2021 program at Klaza was expanded to 14,256 meters of drilling that included 11 resource expansions, 31 resource upgrades, and 30 exploration holes.

A 2020 preliminary economic assessment outlines plans for a mine at Klaza that would produce roughly 750,000 ounces of gold and 13.8 million oz of silver over an initial 12-year mine life.

This scoping level study is based on 4.46 million metric tons of indicated resource averaging 4.8 grams per metric ton (686,000 oz) gold and 98 g/t (14.1 million oz) silver; plus 5.71 million metric tons of inferred resource averaging 2.8 g/t (507,000 oz) gold and 76 g/t (13.9 million oz) silver outlined at the Klaza project so far.

The 2020 drilling at Klaza focused on five potential expansion targets outside of the Klaza resource – Rusk, Pearl, Victoria, Etzel, and Klaza Down-dip.

Some highlights from the 2020 program include:

9.8 meters averaging 1.42 g/t gold, 30.7 g/t silver, 0.48% lead, and 0.60% zinc in hole KL-20-470 (Rusk).

5.65 meters averaging 2.05 g/t gold, 129 g/t silver, 2.29% lead, and 4.67% zinc in hole KL-20-471 (Rusk).

0.4 meters averaging 59.8 g/t gold and 425 g/t silver in hole KL-20-480 (Pearl).

1.5 meters averaging 9.69 g/t gold, 82.74 g/t silver, and 2.62% copper in hole KL-20-484 (Etzel).

0.5 meters averaging 9.8 g/t gold and 50.2 g/t silver in hole KL-20-485 (Victoria).

Two meters averaging 3.18 g/t gold and 43.52 g/t silver in hole KL-20-487 (Klaza Down-dip).

This year, Rockhaven continued to evaluate targets outside the immediate Klaza deposit area with 30 holes. This included 10 holes that tested the main structures of the 2020 Rusk discovery at shallow depths over 300 meters of strike length.

The remaining 20 holes tested Kelly Porphyry, a large zone of copper-gold-molybdenum-silver mineralization immediately southeast of the vein system hosting the Klaza deposit; extensions of Western BRX, the highest-grade gold zone identified at Klaza so far; and Western Chevron, a vein south of Western BRX and in the same fault block.

Another 11 holes of this year's program tested known structures that lie immediately adjacent to the Klaza deposit but outside of the resources that support the mine plan envisioned by the 2020 PEA. These targets include portions of the Central BRX and Eastern Klaza zones, where widely spaced drill holes had previously returned encouraging results.

The remaining 31 holes were focused on upgrading inferred resources at Klaza to the higher confidence indicated category. Rockhaven says these holes are the first phase of a comprehensive infill drill program that is scheduled to be completed in 2022.

This infill drilling, coupled with ongoing metallurgical work, and environmental baseline studies, is being carried out to support a prefeasibility study that will provide further details on establishing a mine at Klaza.

"The 2021 program was designed to expand and upgrade the mineral resource base, collect material for advanced metallurgical test work, and continue the collection of data needed for permitting," said Rockhaven Resources President and CEO Matt Turner. "I would like to thank all employees, consultants and contractors for making the 2021 program a safe and successful exploration season at Klaza and encourage investors to watch for results over the course of the next few months."

Results from the 2021 program are pending and will be released once Rockhaven receives, compiles, and evaluates the assays.
