Avidian adds golden claims to Golden Zone

Stakes 4,200 acres of gold prospective claims next to Chulitna North of 60 Mining News – March 11, 2022

Avidian Gold Corp. Mar. 7 announced it has staked nearly 4,200 acres (1,700 hectares) of ground immediately to the south and southwest of its Golden Zone property, rubbing elbows with Discovery Alaska Ltd.'s Chulitna project and expanding the total volume of the district-scale land holdings to 34,870 acres (14,200 hectares).

"We staked this additional ground as the significant gold discoveries at the Southwest Prospect area trended to the southwest into unexplored open ground and ties on to our neighbors to the south that have found gold, copper plus silver mineralization along the same Golden Zone mineralized trend," said Avidian Gold President and CEO Steve Roebuck.

Strategically located midway between Anchorage and Fairbanks and only six miles (10 kilometers) west of the Parks highway, the now expanded Golden Zone property hosts 4.18 million metric tons of indicated resource averaging 1.99 grams per metric ton (267,400 ounces) gold plus 1.35 million metric tons of inferred resource averaging 0.83 g/t (35,900 oz) gold within its largest deposit – Breccia Pipe.

The company says at least five large gossanous gold-bearing zones southwest of Breccia Pipe – JJ, J4, CC, MJ, and Silver Kitty – and all are within the same stratigraphic sedimentary rock package defined along northeast-by-southwest direction over a strike length of 4,500 meters in the southwestern portion of the roughly 12-mile (19 kilometers) mineralized trend that extends across the entire Golden Zone property.

"The Southwest Prospects consist of 5 large gold mineralized gossanous areas and contain all the geological ingredients required to host a large-scale gold deposit typical of the Tintina Gold Belt," added Roebuck. "Avidian is amongst the first explorers in this area and we believe that we are onto a very large system that was not previously known or recognized on the property."

At the JJ prospect, highlight samples in gossan zones ranged from 2.08 g/t gold to 6.14 g/t gold, with samples from interbedded siltstone sediments ranging from 0.098 g/t gold to 0.965 g/t gold.

Additionally, grab samples from the 2021 program returned 0.82 g/t gold and 1.6 g/t silver and have defined a mineralized gossan over an area of 400- by 150- by 100-meters, open in all directions.

The J4 prospect has been intermittently sampled across an approximate stratigraphic thickness of 120 meters, with the best results being 4 meters of 0.44 g/t gold.

A new zone of gold mineralization called CC was discovered approximately 750 meters southeast of JJ, with values up to 0.43 g/t gold and 1.2 g/t silver from float samples being collected in steep terrain at the base of a talus slope located directly below the source outcrop.

The MJ prospect located approximately 2,750 meters to the southwest of J4 returned 0.83, 5.17 and 4.2 g/t gold plus 2.77% copper from a sulfide-rich gossan zone.

And Silver Kitty, approximately 850 meters to the southwest of MJ, yielded an assay result of 12.35 g/t gold, with additional sampling returning grab samples up to 2.42 g/t gold and 8.6 g/t silver.

"We are very encouraged by the results so far given the very limited time spent in the field at each of these prospects," said Roebuck. "We are currently preparing for the 2022 season and refining our plans and budget required to follow up and determine the extent of the Southwest Prospects as well as the other targets we have on the property."
