StrikePoint results flesh out Willoughby

Announcement to be made by March end for surface sampling North of 60 Mining News – March 11, 2022

StrikePoint Gold Inc. announced early last week results from the remaining 13 holes of the 2021 diamond drill program at its Willoughby property located near Stewart in British Columbia's prolific Golden Triangle.

Designed to further narrow the gaps between the seven high-grade mineralized zones within the Willoughby nunatak, which is where the mountain protrudes through the ice cap, drilling was successful in extending the 1,300-meter-long high-grade gold and silver mineralization trend on the northern end of the Willow zone – the northernmost limit of drilling to date on the property.

"The Willoughby projects continue to deliver results through discoveries to the northern end of the property extending the 1,300-meter mineralized trend, which remains open for expansion to the northeast and southwest," StrikePoint Gold Vice President of Exploration Marilyne Lacasse penned in an email to North of 60 Mining News.

Assays were previously reported from the initial four drill holes in December, while results are still pending from surface sampling at Willoughby.

Even still, in 2021, 4,050 meters of drilling was completed in seventeen holes as well as 129 meters of surface chip channel samples at both the Icefall and Edge zones that followed up on 2020 surface results and in-field observations.

Highlights from the Willow zone drilling include:

9.88 meters averaging 4.95 grams per metric ton gold-equivalent, which accounts for the value of both gold and silver, and 10.93 g/t gold equivalent over 1.5 meters within a broader interval of 26.5 meters averaging 2.76 g/t gold-equivalent in hole W21-115.

Three meters averaging 11.26 g/t gold-equivalent, as well as four meters averaging 2.61 g/t gold-equivalent in hole W21-116.

Three meters averaging 3.07 g/t gold-equivalent in hole W21-123.

0.5 meters averaging 37.19 g/t gold-equivalent in hole W21-124.

Drilling on the Willoughby nunatak bridged the gap in mineralization between the Wilby and North zones and confirmed continuity of the mineralized horizon at the Edge zone.

Edge zone results include:

6.5 meters averaging 2.76 g/t gold-equivalent, as well as 1.5 meters averaging 10.16 g/t gold-equivalent within a broader interval of 19.5 meters averaging 1.92 g/t gold-equivalent in hole W21-117.

Three meters averaging 2.52 g/t gold-equivalent within a broader interval of 10 meters averaging 0.97 g/t gold-equivalent in hole W21-118.

3.5 meters averaging 3.25 g/t gold-equivalent within a broader interval of nine meters averaging 1.54 g/t gold-equivalent in hole W21-119.

Three meters averaging 3.38 g/t gold-equivalent within a broader interval of 17 meters averaging 1.2 g/t gold-equivalent in hole W21-120.

"The 2021 drill results confirmed a similar mineralization style on both the Willoughby nunatak and the Willow zone located 850 meters across the Willoughby ice sheet, strengthening the geological model linking the eight mineralized zones defined to date," Lacasse wrote to Mining News. "In addition, a new north-northwest mineralized structure was outlined at the Willow with this recent phase of drilling. These structures are typically linked to bonanza grades on the property. Furthermore, the 2021 drilling bridged mineralization gaps on the Willoughby nunatak between Wilby and North zones and confirmed mineralization continuity at the Edge, a zone that was only tested sparsely historically."

Lacasse also added that assays are pending from surface chip channel sampling that was conducted to follow up on 2020 surface sampling results and complements the 2021 drilling year, as the mineralization at Edge crops at the surface.

The pending results are expected to cover the 78 meters of chip sampling at the Edge discovery – a recent target added to StrikePoint's portfolio – as well as 16 regional grab samples at the Willoughby property.

By the end of March, Strikepoint expects to have the results and be able to provide further details from this sampling at Edge and Willoughby. The results from the trenching will be incorporated with the drilling result to enhance 2022 drill targeting.

"The geological team is planning in 2022 to test further the mineralization extends to the northeast and southwest of the property and follow up on the newly defined north-northwest structures in the drilling and surface mapping during the 2021 program," Lacasse added.
