Blue Star Gold launches 2022 exploration

To expand resources, test targets on Nunavut gold properties North of 60 Mining News – June 10, 2022

Blue Star Gold Corp. June 7 announced that it has mobilized equipment and crews for a summer exploration program across its Ulu, Hood River, and Roma gold projects in Nunavut. This multi-prong campaign has two primary objectives – infill and expansion drilling at existing resources, along with reviewing and developing targets across more than 45 kilometers (28 miles) of the High Lake Greenstone Belt covered by the three properties.

According to a 2015 calculation, the Flood and Gnu zones on the Ulu property host 2.5 million metric tons of measured and indicated resources averaging 7.53 grams per metric ton (605,000 ounces) gold; and 1.26 million metric tons of inferred resource grading 5.57 g/t (226,000 oz) gold.

Hood River, a larger property that lies adjacent to Ulu, covers 22 known gold occurrences and is prospective for shear-hosted gold mineralization similar to the Flood zone, which hosts the bulk of the resource on the adjacent Ulu property.

Roma, which lies about 32 kilometers (20 miles) north of Hood River and on the north end of the High Lake Greenstone Belt, covers high-grade gold showings discovered by previous explorers such as BHP Minerals from 1988 to 1994.

Blue Star has engaged Precision GeoSurveys Inc. to carry out a comprehensive high-resolution geophysical survey that will utilize a proprietary four-sensor magnetic gradient system to refine the structure, lithology, and alteration prior to mapping and prospecting programs.

This survey will be flown over the entire Roma, Ulu, and Hood River landholdings that were not covered during a similar survey carried out during 2021.

In addition, the recently discovered Gnu zone polymetallic vein – where hole 21BSG020 cut 5.34 meters averaging 3.7 g/t gold and hole 21BSG007 cut 8.15 meters averaging 20.8 g/t gold – will be evaluated further using a magnetics and very-low-frequency electromagnetic geophysical system.

NorthTech Drilling Ltd. out of Yellowknife, Northwest Territories, will carry out at least 3,000 meters of resource expansion drilling and testing of priority exploration targets.

Blue Star also plans to carry out regional sampling, mapping and prospecting programs focused on developing new targets at Roma and further defining high-potential historical prospects on the Hood River concession and Ulu lease.

"Several high potential target areas will be assessed during the program as we work to make significant new discoveries throughout our prospective landholdings," said Blue Star Gold CEO Grant Ewing. "The current program will build off the knowledge acquired in prior programs with respect to new mineralisation styles, potential geochemical and structural controls, as well as the systematic compilation of the targets in the historical dataset."
