Cuts three meters of 31.9 g/t gold at MP-Ryan expansion zone North of 60 Mining News – June 10, 2022
Gold Terra Resource Corp. June 7 reported additional high-grade intercepts from its 19-hole winter drill program in the Mispickel area of its Yellowknife City Gold Project in Northwest Territories.
While Gold Terra's 2022 drill program is primarily focused on building gold resources along the Campbell Shear on the Con Mine property optioned from Newmont south of Yellowknife, the company opted to carry out 6,011 meters of drilling in the Mispickel area about 20 kilometers (12.5 miles) north of the Northwest Territories capital.
The latest batch of results is from three holes drilled at MP-Ryan, a new high-grade zone about 100 meters west of Mispickel, which hosts 893,000 metric tons of inferred resource averaging 2.22 grams per metric ton (64,000 ounces) gold.
The company says visible gold has been observed in 10 of the holes drilled in a wide sheared vertical structure that extends for at least 450 meters at MP-Ryan.
Highlights from this latest batch of assays from MP-Ryan include:
• Three meters averaging 7.63 g/t gold in hole GTWL22-004.
• Six meters averaging 4.17 g/t gold in hole GTWL22-008.
• Three meters averaging 31.89 g/t gold in hole GTWL22-014.
Highlights from five holes of the early 2022 drilling at MP-Ryan previously announced by Gold Terra include:
• Four meters averaging 19 g/t gold in hole GTWL22-002.
• Seven meters averaging 3.59 g/t gold in hole GTWL22-007
"This additional high-grade gold zone is a great indication of a larger system than previously thought in this area and opens up the whole area for other significant high-grade discoveries," said Gold Terra Resource Chairman and CEO Gerald Panneton.
Assays are pending from another 11 holes drilled in the Mispickel area this year.
The Northbelt property where the Mispickel zone is located hosts 1.8 million metric tons of open-pittable inferred resource averaging 1.25 g/t (876,000 ounces) gold and 2.55 million metric tons of underground inferred resource averaging 4.04 g/t (331,000 oz) gold.
An updated resource is slated for completion before the end of the year.
The primary focus of the 40,000 meters of drilling Gold Terra has planned for this year is focused on testing the continuity of the mineralized zones within the Campbell shear south of the former Con Mine.
"The Mispickel area is situated 20 kilometres north of Yellowknife and complements our flagship Con Mine Property where we are currently drilling at depth along the Campbell Shear south of the Con," Panneton said.
