Drills continue to expand Golden Summit

155.4m of 2.57 g/t gold drilled at western edge of deposit North of 60 Mining News – October 21, 2022

Freegold Ventures Ltd. Oct. 18 reported that step-out drilling cut 421 meters of strong gold mineralization on the western side of the Dolphin gold deposit on the company's Golden Summit project about 20 miles north of Fairbanks, Alaska.

According to a 2016 calculation, the Dolphin deposit hosts 61.5 million metric tons of indicated resource averaging 0.69 grams per metric ton (1.36 million ounces) gold; and 71.5 million metric tons of inferred resource averaging 0.69 g/t (1.58 million oz) gold.

Over the past three years, however, Freegold has significantly expanded the footprint of gold mineralization at Dolphin, including more than 500 meters to the east into the high-grade Cleary Hill area of the project.

The latest batch of assays is from two holes drilled off the western side of Dolphin and four holes at the eastern edge of the Cleary Hill expansion area.

Hole GS2221, drilled at the southwest margins of Dolphin, cut 420.7 meters averaging 1.36 g/t gold from a depth of 295 meters, including 155.4 meters averaging 2.57 g/t gold from 487 meters.

Hole GS2136, which was drilled just over 100 meters south-southwest of GS2221, cut 70.1 meters averaging 1.85 g/t gold from 465 meters, including 39.6 meters averaging 2.88 g/t gold at the bottom of the hole that was stopped short due to difficult drilling conditions.

Freegold drilled hole GS2227 about 60 meters south of GS2136 to test downdip of the higher-grade mineralization cut at the bottom of GS2136. Assay results are pending.

The main Cleary Hill Vein swarm dips to the south, and plunges southwest toward Dolphin, with the mineralization increasing in intensity closer to the Dolphin intrusive, especially along the contact margins.

Freegold reported results from four holes drilled at the eastern margins of the Cleary Hill area.

The best intercept from these holes was in GS2154, which cut 50.2 meters averaging 1 g/t gold from a depth of 475 meters, including 3.1 meters averaging 25.9 g/t gold from 599 meters.

GS2154 was drilled about 30 meters northeast of hole GS2144, which cut 51.5 meters averaging 2.05 g/t gold from a depth of 477.6 meters

Freegold says the 2022 drill program at Golden Summit is continuing with four rigs systematically evaluating the Dolphin and Cleary areas.

Drilling since 2020 has also demonstrated significant widths of greater than 2 g/t gold within the interpreted Cleary Vein Swarm (CVS).

Assays are pending from at least 35 holes drilled at Golden Summit.
