Nighthawk drills bonanza gold at Cass

Half a meter of 916 g/t gold at Indin Lake satellite deposit North of 60 Mining News – November 18, 2022

Nighthawk Gold Corp. Nov. 15 announced that this year's drilling cut bonanza-grade gold in the Cass deposit on the company's Indin Lake property in Northwest Territories.

According to a calculation completed in March, Indin Lake hosts 58.2 million metric tons of indicated resource averaging 1.44 grams per metric ton (2.69 million oz) gold, plus 19.7 million metric tons of inferred resource averaging 2.1 g/t (1.33 million) gold.

This year, Nighthawk carried out a 40,085-meters drill program that targeted Colomac Centre, which hosts the bulk of the resources at Indin Lake, as well as higher-grade satellite gold targets across the district-scale property.

This included drilling at Kim and Cass, deposits about 15 kilometers (nine miles) southwest of Colomac that host 4.5 million metric tons of open-pit mineable inferred resource averaging 2.19 g/t (316,300 oz) gold.

The latest batch of Indin Lake assay results are from 2022 drilling at Cass, highlights include:

0.5 meters averaging 125.5 g/t gold in hole CM22-07.

Two meters averaging 232.18 g/t gold in hole CM22-22.

33.5 meters averaging 2.67 g/t gold in hole CM22-31.

The high-grade intercept in hole CM22-22 includes a half-meter subinterval averaging 916 g/t (29.45 ounces per metric ton gold).

"The results from the Cass Deposit drilling are some of the most impressive high-grade, near-surface intercepts we have seen from all the deposits that make up the Colomac Gold Project," Nighthawk Gold President and CEO Keyvan Salehi. "We intersected these high-grade intercepts mostly outside the current mineral resource estimate pit-shells, suggesting the expansion of known mineralization and a potential improvement of the open-pit grade profile of the Cass Deposit."

Earlier this month, Nighthawk reported high-grade gold intercepts from drilling at Kim, which lies roughly three kilometers (two miles) northeast of Cass. Highlights from the drilling at Kim include:

22.1 meters averaging 1.62 g/t gold in hole KM22-03.

17.7 meters averaging 7.3 g/t gold in hole KM22-04.

29.8 meters averaging 2.44 g/t gold in hole KM22-06.

"We believe the Kim and Cass Deposits have the potential to significantly expand the high-grade mineralization of our project," said Salehi.

Nighthawk plans to incorporate the results from its 2022 drilling at Indin Lake into an updated mineral resource estimate slated for completion early next year.
