Strong gold hits in first 2022 Klaza assays

Results expected to expand, upgrade resources ahead of PFS North of 60 Mining News – January 20, 2023

Rockhaven Resources Ltd. Jan. 18 announced the first assay results from its 2022 exploration program at Klaza that push the company closer to an updated mineral resource estimate and pre-feasibility study for this gold-silver project in the Yukon.

According to the most recent resource calculation, Klaza hosts 4.46 million metric tons of indicated resource averaging 4.8 grams per metric ton (686,000 ounces) gold, 98 g/t (14.1 million oz) silver, 0.7% (73.3 million pounds) lead, and 0.9% (92 million lb) zinc; and 5.7 million metric tons of inferred resource averaging 2.8 g/t (507,000 oz) gold, 76 g/t (13.9 million oz) silver, 0.6% (77.5 million lb) lead, and 0.7% (89 million lb) zinc.

For the 2022 program, a total of 12,042 meters of drilling was completed in 69 holes at Klaza. Designed to advance the project toward an updated mineral resource estimate and pre-feasibility study, Rockhaven aimed to accomplish several key targets:

Upgrade prioritized inferred mineral resources to the indicated category.

Expand the total mineral resource.

Collect samples for advanced-stage metallurgical test work.

Complete additional geotechnical drilling for optimized open-pit and underground engineering.

Evaluate some of the exploration targets that lie outside of the known mineral resource areas through excavator trenching, soil sampling, and prospecting.

The first 2022 assays come from 22 of the 69 holes drilled within the Central and Eastern BRX zones, as well as the adjacent AEX zone. Highlights include:

1.3 meters averaging 101.5 g/t gold and 1.7 g/t silver from a depth of 64 meters in hole KL-22-624.

13.29 meters averaging 2.18 g/t gold and 199 g/t silver from 193 meters in KL-22-579.

6.62 meters averaging 6.91 g/t gold and 37 g/t silver from 29 meters in KL-22-563.

1.11 meters averaging 18.85 g/t gold and 347 g/t silver from 93 meters in KL-22-576.

Klaza zones

"Results from 2022 drilling at the Central BRX zone confirm, and build upon, earlier results," said Rockhaven Resources President and CEO Matt Turner. "These results are expected to grow the total mineral resource at Klaza and upgrade mineral resources previously defined at inferred to the indicated category."

The Central BRX zone hosts veins emplaced along the selvages of a single feldspar porphyry dyke which runs the length of the zone. By itself, Central BRX hosts 713,000 metric tons of indicated mineral resource averaging 2.3 g/t (53,000 oz) gold, 124 g/t (2.84 million oz) silver, 0.9% (14.8 million lb) lead and 1.2% (18.3 million lb) zinc; and 1.42 million metric tons of inferred resource averaging 1.7 g/t (79,000 oz) gold, 102 g/t (4.66 million oz) silver, 1% (30 million lb) lead, and 0.9% (27.4 million lb) zinc.

Prior to the 2022 program, Central BRX had been traced for a strike length of 1,100 meters, extending from the Western BRX zone to the Eastern zone; however, drilling in 2022 confirmed and better defined the eastern projection of the BRX structure.

"Eight holes that tested the eastern projection of the BRX zone returned promising results that lie outside of the current mineral resource estimate," said Turner. "The main mineralized structure was intersected in all of these holes, with the best intercept returning 101 g/t gold over 1.3 meters in hole KL-22-624."

The eight holes completed at BRX, coupled with the results from past drill campaigns, have increased confidence in the continuity of mineralization within the Eastern BRX zone, potentially leading to a 300-meter-long expansion of the resource to the east.

As 2022 assays have only just begun to roll in, resource modeling is currently in progress for this target.

The AEX zone, located just south of, and trending sub-parallel to, the Central BRX zone, hosts significant potential for near-surface growth of mineral resources at Klaza.

"Positive results were also obtained from the sub-parallel AEX zone, located immediately to the south of the BRX zone, including the strongest intercept to date from that zone, averaging 6.91 g/t gold over 6.62 meters in hole KL-22-563," added the Rockhaven CEO.

Rockhaven aims to complete a fully-funded pre-feasibility study by mid-2023. Assays from 47 holes drilled at Klaza last year are pending.
