Goliath to drill a Surebet gold discovery

Mobilized for large drill program at Golddigger in Northern BC North of 60 Mining News - May 22, 2023

Goliath Resources Ltd. May 19 announced that it has mobilized equipment and crew to Golddigger for an 18,000-meter drill program at this gold-silver project in Northern British Columbia.

"After many months of extensive and detailed planning in the off season, we are very pleased to have mobilized for another aggressive drill campaign this year at our high-grade gold-silver Golddigger property," said Goliath Resources CEO Roger Rosmus.

Located just southwest of Dolly Varden Silver Corp.'s Kitsault Valley project and about 30 kilometers (19 miles) southeast of Stewart, BC, Golddigger is a 59,089-hectare (146,012 acres) property within 2,000 meters of the Red Line that is host to multiple world-class deposits.

Surebet, a high-grade gold-silver discovery that was drilled extensively last year, is slated as a primary target of this year's program.

Highlights from the 86 holes drilled in 2022 include:

11 meters averaging 6.98 grams per metric ton gold and 441.6 g/t silver in hole GD-22-48.

7.77 meters averaging 20.46 g/t gold and 40.1 g/t silver in hole GD-22-49.

11 meters averaging 22.03 g/t gold and 127.6 g/t silver in hole GD-22-58.

11 meters averaging 12.1 g/t gold and 54.1 g/t silver in hole GD-22-100.

Surebet Zone intersects Bonanza Shear, a larger but lower-grade body of mineralization.

Based on current modeling, Surebet is a roughly 5.5 million cubic meter zone that runs an average of about 6.9 meters thick with an average grade of 6.3 g/t gold-equivalent, which accounts for the value of both the gold and silver. Bonanza is a roughly 13 million cubic meter zone that averages about 5.3 meters thick at 2.7 g/t gold.

One of the primary objectives of the 2023 drilling is to expand the footprint and higher-grade mineralized areas of Surebet Zone and Bonanza Shear.

"The newly discovered Surebet Zone has demonstrated to be a very robust system that is structurally controlled with exceptional continuity and associated with the expansive Bonanza Shear that remains open," said Rosmus. "We have identified several new strong drill targets focused on where we believe are higher-grade zones as well as significantly expanding the footprint size of this system that remains open."

Goliath also plans to carry out its first drilling at Goldswarm Zone, a discovery about 4,000 meters north of Surebet.

Grab samples collected from Goldswarm have returned grades as high 54.3 g/t, 47.5 g/t, 26.5 g/t, and 24.5 g/t gold.

"This year's drilling will also include a Maiden Drill program at our newly discovered Goldswarm Zone that is on strike with the Surebet discovery four km to the north that could potentially deliver another material drill discovery in 2023. It has similar geology and high-grade mineralized structures exposed at surface we see at Surebet," the Goliath CEO said. "This year's exploration campaign also includes developing new high-grade drill targets for 2024 with a focus on many newly seen outcrops popping up at surface within the icefields located in the northern region of our significantly expanded property area. These could provide for additional upside discovery potential in the years to come."

Goliath is working in partnership with four other mineral exploration and development companies with nearby projects in BC and Southeast Alaska to study the potential of developing a centralized mill on New Moly's Kitsault project that could process ore from multiple projects, including Golddigger.
