VG observed in ten holes drilled so far this year at BC project North of 60 Mining News – August 4, 2023
Goliath Resources Ltd. July 31 announced that it has now cut visible gold in 10 holes drilled so far this year across a 1,500-meter stretch of the company's Golddigger property near Dolly Varden Silver Corp.'s Kitsault Valley gold-silver project in Northern British Columbia.
While assays are pending from all the holes drilled by Goliath this year, the VG seen in core coupled with results from 2022 drilling at Golddigger are good indicators for the company and project.
Highlights from 86 holes drilled at Golddigger last year include:
• 11 meters averaging 6.98 grams per metric ton gold and 441.6 g/t silver in hole GD-22-48.
• 7.77 meters averaging 20.46 g/t gold and 40.1 g/t silver in hole GD-22-49.
• 11 meters averaging 22.03 g/t gold and 127.6 g/t silver in hole GD-22-58.
• 11 meters averaging 12.1 g/t gold and 54.1 g/t silver in hole GD-22-100.
Coupled with drilling completed in 2021, last year's drilling outlined intersecting gold mineralized bodies at Golddigger – Bonanza Sheer and Surebet. Based on current modeling, Surebet is a roughly 5.5-million-cubic-meter zone that averages around 6.9 meters thick at an estimated 6.3 g/t gold-equivalent, which accounts for the value of both the gold and silver. Bonanza is a roughly 13-million-cubic-meter zone that averages about 5.3 meters thick at around 2.7 g/t gold.
Both the Surebet Zone and the Bonanza Shear remain open for expansion.
The drilling completed so far this year has cut visible gold in 10 holes along a 1,500-meter trend that extends from the Surebet blowout zone on the northwest end to the newly named Surebet Golden Gate Feeder Zone to the southeast.
The latest batch of VG speckled core came from:
• GD-23-154, which cut three occurrences of visible gold with 14.4 meters of quartz-sulfide mineralized stockwork in what is interpreted as the Bonanza Sheer.
• GD-23-157, which cut 12 separate occurrences of visible gold within 66.34 meters of strongly mineralized quartz-sulfide breccia in what is interpreted as the Surebet Zone.
Goliath says all the visible gold encountered so far at Golddigger has been within quartz-breccia and veins in contact with or near sphalerite and galena mineralization. The company is collaborating with the Colorado School of Mines on a project aimed at determining the origin and evolution of the gold mineralizing fluids in the Surebet zone.
Assays are pending from all holes drilled this year at Golddigger.
