BIG East continues to exceed expectations

Li-FT Power Ltd. Oct. 24 reported the highest-grade lithium intercept so far from its ongoing drill program at the company's Yellowknife Lithium project in Northwest Territories

Acquiring its various properties in the re-emerging Yellowknife Pegmatite Province in January, Li-FT began its first season with a massive 45,000-meter drill program just a few months after its inception.

Assembling a 141,572-hectare (349,832 acres) land package that covers some of the most prospective targets found within the YPP, the Yellowknife Lithium project covers at least 14 pegmatites on mineral leases practically a stone's throw from NWT's capital, Yellowknife.

Consisting of 11 properties divided into two groups – five in a road-accessible area immediately east of Yellowknife and a cluster of six about 50 kilometers (30 miles) further east – Li-FT has been rolling out assays from these targets consistently for the last several weeks.

One of the surprises for the company has been the wider-than-expected zones of strong lithium mineralization at the BIG East pegmatite on one of the road-accessible properties. Highlights from previously reported assays from BIG East include:

• 13 meters averaging 1.05% lithium oxide from a depth of 66 meters in hole YLP0039.

• 11 meters averaging 1.28% lithium oxide from a depth of 111 meters in hole YLP0039.

• 14 meters averaging 1.24% lithium oxide from a depth of 42 meters in hole YLP0043.

• 12.3 meters averaging 1.28% lithium oxide from a depth of 0.7 meters in hole YLP0049.

• 14 meters averaging 1.5% lithium oxide from a depth of 38 meters in hole YLP0049.

• 15 meters averaging 1.27% lithium oxide from a depth of 29 meters in hole YLP0052.

This week's release includes results for one hole from Shorty and four from BIG East, including the highest-grade intercept at the Yellowknife Lithium project to date. Highlights include:

• 12 meters averaging 1.04% lithium oxide from a depth of 57 meters in hole YLP-0059, (Shorty).

• Nine meters averaging 1.09% lithium oxide from 101 meters in YLP-0063, (BIG East).

• Nine meters averaging 1.21% lithium oxide from 57 meters in YLP-0060, (BIG East).

• 13 meters averaging 1.55% lithium oxide from 56 meters in YLP-0064, (BIG East).

• 18 meters averaging 1.79% lithium oxide from 163 meters in YLP-0092, (BIG East).

"BIG East has delivered the highest grade intersects from across the project to date in hole YLP0092 across excellent width," Li-FT Power CEO Francis MacDonald. "Our expectations from BIG East in terms of grades and widths continue to be exceeded."

Dispersed fairly widely throughout BIG East, this batch of holes was designed to test the extent of the pegmatite.

YLP-0060 tested the BIG East swarm roughly 300 meters from its northern end; YLP-0063 tested approximately 250 meters from its southern end. YLP-0064 tested the swarm approximately 200 meters from its northern end; and YLP-0092 tested roughly 350 meters from the southern tip.

Each of these was drilled 50 to 150 meters beneath surface, with all hitting consistent grades between 1% to the now-highest 1.72% lithium oxide.

With a massive 45,000-meter program slated for 2023, Li-FT says that results from 67 holes totaling 11,808 meters have been received. However, the balance from 192 diamond drill holes from 32,299 meters drilled this year has yet to be completely reported.
