Seabridge fired up for 2024 exploration

Wielding a new exploration model, Seabridge is aiming for roughly 8,000 meters of drilling at strategically planned targets to determine the full extent of 3 Aces.

Company excited to test new model and determine extent of 3 Aces toward future resource estimate.

Seabridge Gold Inc. May 1 announced that preparations are underway at its 3 Aces project in Yukon, Canada, which aims to expand on the comprehensive exploration model that was successfully confirmed last season.

Lying alongside the Nahanni Range Road, 3 Aces is a road-accessible project that covers 357 square kilometers (138 square miles) of high-grade gold discoveries and targets in southeastern Yukon.

After acquiring the project in 2020, Seabridge has been refining its model and geological understanding to better approach this highly prospective land package that has been compared with some of the largest and richest gold deposits in the world, including the California Mother Lode Belt, the Juneau Gold Belt, the Muruntau in Uzbekistan, and Obuasi in Ghana.

Earlier in the year, the company announced it had potentially discovered the controls that have led to the mineralization found at 3 Aces, a mystery that had been unsolved by previous explorers.

"Previous operators encountered challenges connecting and extending target zones in the CCA (Central Core Area)," said Seabridge Gold CEO Rudi Fronk at the time. "Our team's comprehensive and detailed work has recognized controls that appear to have resolved this continuity issue."

With new data in hand, a plan has been made for a multi-pronged effort to apply the exploration model to new targets within the Central Core, evaluate the size and potential of existing zones, and assess the exploration model at regional targets across the larger 3 Aces property.

Fully funded, the program plans to complete additional geophysical surveys and about 8,000 meters of core and reverse circulation drilling in the Central Core Area and outlaying targets.

"Our team has confirmed several key parameters that are critical to localizing gold concentrations in the Central Core Area," said Fronk. "Findings from last season's program give us confidence in our ability to expand mineralized zones utilizing our robust exploration model."

According to Seabridge, the new model predicts the continuity of mineralization, including high-grade gold, localized along limbs of second-order folds.

Additionally, further exploration efforts are planned for the season that will evaluate the limit of several targets within the Central Core Area. This work is intended to deliver indications of size potential on several known high-grade zones and provide additional refinements on the controls for gold.

Ultimately, the company states its drilling is aimed toward a future resource estimate.

"We are excited to apply this understanding across more of the 3 Aces land package," added the gold explorer CEO. "We view this year's work as pivotal for moving the project towards resource delineation."
