Latest assay release from Li-FT pegmatites

North of 60 Mining News - May 23, 2024

Drill results highlight potential for the Shorty pegmatite to deliver high-grade tonnage to future resource.

Li-FT Power Ltd. May 22 announced another batch of assays from 12 drill holes completed from the Shorty, BIG East, Echo, Fi Main and Ki pegmatites on the company's Yellowknife Lithium project in Northwest Territories, Canada.

Consisting of 11 properties divided into two groups – five in a road-accessible area immediately east of Yellowknife and a cluster of six about 50 kilometers (30 miles) further east – Li-FT's Yellowknife Lithium project is made up of a 141,572-hectare (349,832 acres) land package that covers some of the most prospective targets found within the YPP.

Kicking off its second year exploring for hard rock lithium on the underexplored Yellowknife Pegmatite Province, the company kept momentum up by initiating an 18,400-meter program that has continued to return similar consistency as it delivered all last year.

Highlights from 1,918 meters of drilling in the 12 holes included in the latest batch of assays include:

35 meters averaging 1.32% lithium oxide from a depth of 31 meters in hole YLP-0283 (Shorty).

11 meters averaging 1.16% Li2O from seven meters in YLP-0274 (Ki).

12 meters averaging 0.82% Li2O from 66 meters in YLP-0263 (Echo).

"Shorty continues to deliver near-surface high grade spodumene mineralization this week, with YLP-0283 returning an impressive 35 meters of 1.32% Li2O only 50 meters from surface," said Li-FT Power Senior Vice President of Geology Dave Smithson. "The intercept extends strong shallow mineralization drilled 100 meters to the southwest in holes YLP-091 an YLP-097 (17 meters of 1.28% Li2O, 16 meters of 1.01% Li2O, and 23 meters of 1.03% Li2O) from 2023."

"This new information extends high grade mineralization for a total of 400 meters on surface at Shorty emphasizing the dyke's potential to deliver significant high-grade tonnes from surface," Smithson added.

Having already drilled 10,274 meters of its initially planned 18,400 meters for 2024, Li-FT has drilled more than 49,548 meters in 286 holes at Yellowknife Lithium in less than two years.
