White Cliff identifies multiple anomalies

North of 60 Mining News - November 1, 2024

Several large-scale conductive anomalies discovered at Rae copper-silver project.

White Cliff Minerals Ltd. Oct. 28 announced the identification of several large-scale conductive anomalies at its RAE copper-silver project in Nunavut, Canada, marking a significant advancement in the search for extensive sediment-hosted copper deposits within the newly delineated Hulk district.

Located less than 70 kilometers (43 miles) from Kugluktuk, a hamlet previously known as Coppermine with an airstrip and port, the RAE project covers a broad area known for its potential Coppermine River Group basalts, famous for extremely high-grade copper showings – with some samples exceeding 45% copper.

White Cliff recently expanded the Rae project to 1,198 square kilometers (462 square miles), increasing the project area by about 20% and extending its prospective sediment-hosted copper potential along 72 kilometers (45 miles) of what is now being referred to as the Rae Group sediments.

The Rae project hosts several high-priority targets that have emerged as focal points for White Cliff's exploration efforts:

Vision District: Spanning a 10-kilometer-long northeast-to-southwest corridor, this area encompasses the Don and Pat targets, both featuring extensive outcropping massive chalcocite veins. These veins indicate substantial sediment-hosted copper potential, with early assays revealing grades as high as 64% copper at Don and 55% copper at Pat.

Hulk target: Identified as a large-scale anomaly, Hulk features a 16-kilometer-by-4-kilometer magnetic signature within the reactive basal sequence of the Rae Group sedimentary basin. Initial sampling of malachite-stained outcrops at Hulk returned up to 1.65% copper, marking it as a primary focus for further exploration.

Acquiring its various properties in February, White Cliff Minerals immediately began exploring the historic Great Bear Lake site, once home to a uranium mine that likely contributed to the Manhattan Project and renowned for its rich deposits of copper, silver, and other metals.

As exploration at Great Bear advanced, the company also intensified efforts at Rae, targeting the sediment-hosted copper potential that recent surveys have begun to reveal.

In early October, White Cliff announced results from its initial field program at Rae, which began in July. The first batch of assays from rock chip samples confirmed high-grade copper and precious metals within extensive chalcocite vein systems, marking a significant discovery within what is now considered the first major find at Rae. Notable samples from Vision returned exceptional grades, including:

64.02% copper and 152 g/t silver.

62.02% copper and 162 g/t silver.

50.48% copper and 102 g/t silver.

55.01% copper and 37 g/t silver.

46.07% copper and 46 g/t silver.

44.43% copper and 32 g/t silver.

Additionally, a significant sample from the Hulk target returned 1.65% copper, aligning with the geological model suggesting sedimentary-hosted copper mineralization within the sixteen-by-four-kilometer magnetic anomaly.

Building on these promising results, the latest airborne geophysical survey identified multiple large-scale conductive anomalies across the Hulk district. This survey, covering 2,400 line-kilometers, offered broad, high-resolution coverage and have delineated three fault-controlled sub-basins with conductive responses.

These new targets, aligned with a 20-kilometer (12.5 miles) strike length, strengthen the potential for substantial sediment-hosted copper mineralization within Rae.

"This breakthrough discovery at Hulk confirms the scale and potential for significant copper discoveries across multiple zones," said White Cliff Minerals Managing Director Troy Whittaker. "With these results, we're finalizing drill locations for our fully funded 2025 campaign, positioning us for exciting developments ahead."

The newly identified anomalies have reinforced the strategic focus at Hulk, underscoring the potential for sediment-hosted copper along the defined sub-basins. The integration of survey data is expected to aid in the precise placement of drill targets within these zones.

White Cliff is set to begin drilling at Rae in early 2025, with permits and preparations underway for the fully funded campaign, while additional survey results are being processed to further refine drill targets.
