Silver47 Exploration Corp. Nov. 21 said its inaugural drilling at West Tundra Flats indicates the potential of increasing both the size and grade of this deposit on the company's Red Mountain project about 60 miles (100 kilometers) south of Fairbanks, Alaska.
Since its Nov. 14 listing on the TSX Venture Exchange, Silver47 has released a steady stream of news regarding an inaugural six-hole drill program carried out at Red Mountain this summer.
According to a mineral resource calculation for Silver47 earlier this year, the Dry Creek and West Tundra Flats deposits at Red Mountain host a combined 15.6 million metric tons of inferred resource averaging 71.4 grams per metric ton (35.9 million oz) silver, 0.43 g/t (214,000 oz) gold, 3.4% (1.17 billion pounds) zinc, 1.4% (476 million lb) lead, and 0.17% (57 million lb) copper.
When you combine the value of all the metals, this equates to 168.7 million silver-equivalent-ounces at an average grade of 335.7 g/t silver-equivalent.
On Nov. 18, Siver47 reported that one of the holes drill this year at Dry Creek cut 24.5 meters of mineralization with significantly higher grades than the resource average.
The latest batch of 2024 Red Mountain drill assays are from two holes drilled at West Tundra Flats, which lies about 1.7 miles (2.7 kilometers) northeast of Dry Creek.
Highlights from this year's drilling at West Tundra Flats include:
• 22 meters averaging 57.5 g/t silver, 0.14 g/t gold, 1.6% zinc, 0.67% lead, and 0.09% copper in hole WT24-33, including a 2.9-meter subsection averaging 417.5 g/t silver, 0.74 g/t gold, 9.1% zinc, 4.77 g/t lead, and 0.11% copper.
• 4.4 meters averaging 157.4 g/t silver, 1.05 g/t gold, 6.3% zinc, 3.03% lead, and 0.08% copper, including a 1.5-meter subsection averaging 356 g/t silver, 2.9 g/t gold, 13.7% zinc, 6.21% lead and 0.17% copper.
"The successful confirmation and infill holes drilled at West Tundra Flats suggest a path to increasing the size and grade of the resource by utilizing modern drilling to fill the widely spaced historical drilling," said Silver47 Vice President of Exploration Alex Wallis. "Historical drilling had poor core recovery at West Tundra Flats, including through mineralized intervals. The high-percentage core recovery achieved in 2024 gives us an opportunity to improve upon the already robust grade reported from the 1980's drilling."
Assays are pending from two additional holes drilled at Dry Creek and one drilled at Kiwi, a prospect that lies about eight miles (13 kilometers) southwest of West Tundra Flats.
