Forum Energy Metals Corp. Nov. 26 reported that its initial batch of results from its 2024 drill program at Aberdeen has encountered a new high-grade lens that expands the width of uranium mineralization of the Tatiggaq West deposit on this project in Nunavut's Thelon Basin.
"Drilling at Tatiggaq Main has intersected another parallel lense of high-grade uranium extending the width to 35 meters and could be thicker," said Forum Energy Metals Vice President of Exploration Rebecca Hunter.
Located about three miles (five kilometers) west of Kiggavik, a project held by global uranium producer Orano that hosts 133 million pounds of uranium grading at 0.54% triuranium oxide (U3O8).
This year, Forum completed a 30-hole drill program at Aberdeen, including 11 holes, to follow up on the success of the 2023 drilling at the Tatiggaq Main and Tatiggaq West zones.
One hole drilled at Tatiggaq last year cut 11.1 meters averaging 2.25% U3O8.
The company says that seven of the holes drilled this year at Tatiggaq cut mineralization; highlights include:
• 35.3 meters averaging 0.11% U3O8 from a depth of 144.2 meters in hole TAT24-011, including 0.4 meters averaging 1.24% U3O8 (Tatiggaq West).
• 2.4 meters averaging 1.15% U3O8 from a depth of 169.1 meters in hole TAT24-012, including 0.5 meters averaging 2.77% U3O8 (Tatiggaq Main).
• 17.9 meters averaging 0.68% U3O8 from a depth of 157.9 meters in hole TAT24-014, including 0.5 meters averaging 4.3% U3O8 (Tatiggaq Main).
"I am pleased that Tatiggaq West shows lateral continuity and thickness to the west and remains open along strike and at depth," said Hunter. "The complex, structurally-controlled nature of these zones will be evaluated with further infill drilling and drilling along strike of the Tatiggaq Fault in 2025."
Forum's 2024 drill program also tested parallel structures adjacent to the Tatiggaq deposit, as well as four regional targets on the Aberdeen property.
"We look forward to receiving the results from eight holes along parallel structures in the Tatiggaq anomaly, as well as 11 holes drilled at Qavvik, Ned, Loki and Ayra," the Forum vice president of exploration added.
