2024 results prove RC Gold prospectivity

North of 60 Mining News - January 10, 2025

Final results highlight Sitka's expanding zones, discovery potential.

Sitka Gold Corp. Jan. 7 announced the final results from its 2024 diamond drilling program at the RC Gold project in Yukon, Canada, alongside promising results from the maiden drilling at the Rhosgobel and Pukelman intrusions, further highlighting the potential of this district-scale property.

Located in the heart of Yukon's Tombstone Gold Belt, the 431-square-kilometer (166 square miles) RC Gold project lies roughly 100 kilometers (62 miles) east of Dawson City, in a fertile and underexplored placer mining district between the past-producing Eagle and Brewery Creek gold mines.

According to an inaugural calculation completed last year, the Blackjack deposit hosts 33.7 million metric tons of inferred resource averaging 0.83 grams per metric ton (900,000 ounces) gold at a cutoff grade of 0.25 g/t gold; and the Eiger deposit hosts an additional 27.4 million metric tons averaging 0.5 g/t (440,000 oz) gold at the same cutoff for a combined total of 1.34 million oz of gold.

During the 2024 season, Sitka conducted its most extensive exploration to date, completing roughly 15,000 meters of diamond drilling across 48 holes at multiple high-priority targets, including Blackjack, Rhosgobel, Pukelman, May-Qu, and Saddle East.

Additionally, the program included systematic sampling, mapping, and follow-up exploration at Mahtin and other prospective zones within the district-scale RC Gold property, enhancing the company's understanding of the project's expansive mineralized potential.

"Our work at RC Gold this past year continues to demonstrate the vast potential of this district-scale property to host large, economic gold resources," said Sitka Gold CEO Cor Coe. "Results from 2024 have highlighted the persistent and strong gold values present at several targets across this project with numerous occurrences of visible gold observed and several greater than +100 gram-metre intervals intercepted in multiple drill holes across the Blackjack target and in our initial drilling of the Rhosgobel and Pukelman intrusions."

Demonstrating the persistent and robust gold values across multiple targets, some of the most notable results from the 2024 drilling campaign include:

678.1 meters averaging 1.04 g/t gold from surface in hole DDRCCC-24-068, including 93 meters averaging 2.57 g/t gold, with 5.5 meters averaging 17.59 g/t gold (Blackjack).

290.5 meters averaging 1.1 g/t gold from 236 meters in DDRCCC-24-062, including 34.5 meters averaging 2.61 g/t gold (Blackjack).

542.3 meters averaging 0.47 g/t gold from surface in DDRCCC-24-057, including 191 meters averaging 1.16 g/t gold, with 54.6 meters averaging 2.54 g/t gold (Blackjack).

164.8 meters averaging 0.82 g/t gold from surface in DDRCRG-24-001, including 119 meters averaging 1.05 g/t gold, with 11.5 meters averaging 4.32 g/t gold (Rhosgobel).

343 meters averaging 0.34 g/t gold from 53 meters in DDRCCC-24-074, including 69 meters averaging 0.5 g/t gold and 10 meters averaging 1.02 g/t gold (Pukelman).

"Drilling at RC Gold has now confirmed potential economic grade gold mineralization exists within four of the known gold bearing intrusions that have been investigated to date at the Clear Creek Intrusive Complex, namely the Blackjack, Eiger, Rhosgobel and Pukelman targets, showcasing exceptional potential for this gold system to host multiple gold deposits of significant size and grade," added Coe. "Drilling also significantly grew potential tonnage at our Blackjack gold deposit, producing some exceptional results including our best intercept to date from Hole 68 which returned 678.1 metres of 1.04 grams per tonne gold."

The success of the 2024 drilling program has not only expanded Sitka's understanding of the mineralized systems at RC Gold but also set the stage for continued resource growth across key targets like Blackjack, Rhosgobel, and Pukelman.

These advancements, bolstered by notable drill intercepts, provide a clearer picture of the district's gold potential and introduce exciting new results that further highlight the scale and continuity of mineralization.

The latest results further emphasize the scale and continuity of mineralization; highlights include:

710.5 meters averaging 0.51 g/t gold from surface in hole DDRCCC-24-072, including 85 meters averaging 1.12 g/t gold and 7.2 meters averaging 2.96 g/t gold (Blackjack).

110 meters averaging 0.68 g/t gold from 491.5 meters in DDRCCC-24-071, including 31.5 meters averaging 1.46 g/t gold and three meters averaging 3.72 g/t gold (Blackjack).

46 meters averaging 0.51 g/t gold from 42 meters in DDRCCC-24-073, including 11.7 meters averaging 1.04 g/t gold and 1.2 meters averaging 3.39 g/t gold (Pukelman).

69 meters averaging 0.5 g/t gold from 321 meters in DDRCCC-24-074, including 8 meters averaging 1.08 g/t gold and two meters averaging 3.18 g/t gold (Pukelman).

Building on the momentum of 2024, Sitka is now poised to expand its exploration efforts significantly, with a fully funded 30,000-meter drill program planned for 2025 aimed at further defining and growing the gold resource at RC Gold.

"Blackjack has produced many impressive drill intersections since our discovery there at the end of 2021, including twenty two (22), +100 gram-metre intersections, 13 of which are outside of the initial resource area highlighting the growing size and grade potential of this gold deposit," said the Sitka CEO. "With a fully funded 30,000 metre drill program planned for 2025, we eagerly look forward to building on the success of the past year as we aim to unlock additional value at RC Gold for our shareholders."
