Gladiator expands Cowley Park potential

North of 60 Mining News - January 17, 2025

High-grade copper intercepts and historical core bolster project growth.

Gladiator Metals Corp. Jan. 13 announced assay results from its late 2024 drill program at the Cowley Park prospect on its Whitehorse Copper project in the Yukon, along with analysis of previously unassayed historic core, confirming high-grade copper intercepts that bolster the resource potential of this advanced-stage project.

Located just outside Yukon's capital city o, the 5,280-hectare (13,294-acre) Whitehorse Copper project spans a historically productive 35-kilometer (22-mile) by five-kilometer (three-mile) trend within the Whitehorse Copper Belt.

This region, known for its rich deposits, produced approximately 267.5 million pounds of copper, 225,000 ounces of gold, and 2.84 million oz of silver during its peak years from 1967 to 1982.

During the late 2024 program, Gladiator completed 34 diamond drill holes totaling 6,104 meters at Cowley Park, designed to confirm near-surface, high-grade copper mineralization and test extensions of known mineralized zones.

In addition, the analysis of 11 historic core holes totaling 1,427 meters revealed previously unreported high-grade copper intercepts, further highlighting the potential for resource expansion at this promising prospect.

These recent assays, combined with the analysis of historical core, have identified significant intervals of copper mineralization, including both broad zones and high-grade intercepts that underscore the continuity and expansion potential of Cowley Park; highlights from the 2024 drilling and historic core include:

36 meters averaging 1.23% copper from a depth of 49 meters in hole CPG-039, including six meters averaging 1.53% copper, 1.02 g/t gold, and 13.1 g/t silver.

24 meters averaging 1.05% copper from 84 meters in CPG-037, within a broader interval of 32 meters averaging 0.9% copper.

20 meters averaging 1.22% copper from 118 meters in CPG-051, within a broader 52-meter intercept averaging 0.73% copper.

Additionally, re-assayed historic core returned notable results, such as 40.2 meters averaging 1.74% copper in hole CP-144 and 23.04 meters averaging 1.59% copper in hole 18-CP-06, with appreciable quantities of gold, silver, and molybdenum, further enhancing the economic potential of the deposit.

"Cowley Park continues to exceed our initial expectations," said Gladiator CEO Jason Bontempo.

"Completion of the 2024 drill season has not only confirmed broader intervals of copper mineralization but has confirmed continuity of higher grade exoskarn mineralization that now appears opens along strike and at depth, leading us to believe mineralization has the potential to extend well beyond our previous geological interpretation."

Results from the 2024 program, combined with the historic core, have significantly enhanced Gladiator's understanding of the deposit's geometry and mineralization controls.

"Additional drone magnetics and IP work completed in 2024 is being compiled and interpreted to better understand 2025 exploration targets that have the potential to expand Cowley Park," added Bontempo.

This refined geological framework will guide upcoming exploration efforts aimed at extending high-grade zones and identifying new targets along strike and at depth.
